It was a visit to Kosovo in 2003 that prompted Nicolas to launch Balkan Trafik. Now, 20 years later, he revisits the country. The documentary ‘BALKAN WHAT!’ tackles tough questions like the legacy of the war, poverty, environmental damage, emigration and isolation as Kosovars await EU visa liberalisation. But the former Belgian amateur boxing champion sets out to highlight the country’s diversity and the courage and energy of its young people.
“Let me take you with me to the heart of a country whose human and cultural richness remains mostly unknown, to witness the creative energy that inspires people and, above all, to overcome the stereotypes and create a Balkan Trafik of cultures.”
